Math Bee and Lego Challenge

All grades are welcome!! Deadline April 6th The Math Challenge consists of team and individual entries for series of math challenges ranging from mental math, word problems, speed drills. Math portion is non- competitive. The Lego challenge is a super-fun competition. See below for details.

About the event
Math Challenge:
Team and individual entries for series math challenges ranging from mental math, word problems, speed drills. Children will complete individually in a timed challenge answering written problems. They will then enter team competition for mental math and word problems by age. Very relaxed atmosphere.
They will then have an opportunity to have their own free style design judged.
Lego Challenge
Free style entry:
Measurements: 6 inches x 6 inches x 6 inches
K- 1st grade only: Up to 12inches x 12 inches x 12 inches
Must be home designed, not out of a box.
Judging criteria: creativity, design, clear purpose (i.e. is it a building, a vehicle, a creature, etc) , meets measurements, symmetry, stability, color scheme.
TEEN VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: volunteer hours given, bring your sheet, please contact Mary Patch to sign up for volunteering.
HEARTS Members are free - Participation certificates to all participants. Ribbons to Lego Challenge Winners.
